What you meant to say
is never too late to write-
just too late to read.

April Fool
I put my coffee cup on the roof of the car
and the three-ring binder with three years of poetry in it
(most of it unbound)
and I remembered where I put them
when the lovely plume of paper
fluttered out behind me
Improv instructor started each session
with the class creating a blackboard mural together
it was always wonderful
and he always erased it
I had a fantasy
of a people who never recorded their songs
who created a new one every time they sang
Sometimes you have to let go of what you created
to create something new
But damn it
I still wish I hadn't done that
and the three-ring binder with three years of poetry in it
(most of it unbound)
and I remembered where I put them
when the lovely plume of paper
fluttered out behind me
Improv instructor started each session
with the class creating a blackboard mural together
it was always wonderful
and he always erased it
I had a fantasy
of a people who never recorded their songs
who created a new one every time they sang
Sometimes you have to let go of what you created
to create something new
But damn it
I still wish I hadn't done that
